Union Reps screw Hostess employees out of pension money

Guess when you play hardball and force a company to shut it's doors, you take some risk of hurting those you are supposedly protecting.

At least the 19 top execs still got their $92K average "bonus."

And not paying the bonuses extended the pre-bankruptcy situation by one week. All bring up the bonuses does is to try and incite or in your case show class warfare tendencies.
The baker's union thought the company was bluffing ultimately they were trying to get blood from a rock.

No no...no class warfare here. I am sure there are all kinds of companies that give "bonuses" out to people at the helm of sinking businesses, not to mention exorbitant pre-bankruptcy raises, all while realizing that the end is near.
Personally, I don't give a damn one way or another about Hostess products, the union, the workers, the executives or any news about it. I haven't eaten any of the products for.....oh.....I dunno.....15 years.

Then you have no room to talk. Consider yourself BANNED from this thread!
YOU are the reason Hostess went bankrupt! YOU failed to purchase their products! YOU are the reason WE don't have Twinkies anymore!

Well the question here is who went on strike and ultimately killed the company? The 19 top execs?
Other than that, I do find the silence of union members on the board interesting.

The workers...although there's plenty of blame to go around. You'd think that a situation like this would open the eyes of execs insomuch that they'd realize that happy employees who do not feel the need to unionize can lead to a longer prosperous company. But ultimately those same execs simply don't give a damn, because even with the final failure of a company, they're still compensated and doing ok.
Amazing thing, I was talking to a guy in our club recently. He was a union guy for GM LOOOONNNNGGG time ago. Even he said that unions had their purpose, but not so much anymore.

Had the workers accepted the proposed 25% ownership in the company they would all be enjoying a wonderful Christmas this year but instead they sit pondering the short sightedness of their foolhardy decision.

One has to work and create a product and create a profit for the company before one can strike, so I guess that leaves the 19 top execs out of the picture.
Let the CLASS WAR begin...

This has been going on for decades, (Union and non-union jobs) and not just with private companies, but with local and state pensions as well.

You think $1.8M they paid out would have saved them...? At least those who didn't screw the company with their greed got something out of the deal...

How exactly have non-union workers been robbed of pension money by labor leaders?

You do know that you don't have to be in a union in order to get a pension?? It's just money and greed and it happens regardless of whether you're union or not.
