knock sensors
I am getting things ready to do the OPSU and when I was doing my searches I found something about the knock sensors but now I cant find it. It was about wrapping them with teflon to prevent false readings or something about that.
Anybody remember this issue or have any other advice on them. I am going to replace them when I'm in there any way, but just in case.

No, it was about putting silicone around the edges to keep water from getting inside them. This is something stupid people who power wash their engine would have to do. Don't waste your time. And DON'T power wash your engine.

Thanks. I clean my engines by darn near tearing them down. I will clean as much as I can when the intake is off.
Thanks again.

Yeah....thats how I hope mine looks when I'm done. After getting a closer feel for how bad the OPSU is leaking I am almost sure that is also what made the clutch go south too. Probably leaked down into all the clutch springs and disc. So I am pulling the intake this Sunday afternoon with my son. He leave for the Army in January (following in Dads footsteps ) and its going to be a good hang and drink a beer day!!!!
I am really stoked about it!
Then next weekend the new street strip clutch goes in! I'll take pictures and do a write up. Maybe somebody could use it. I just want to give a little back to the forum since it has helped me so much.
