Ferrari 430 or Lamborghini Gallardo?

So I get 3 laps in one or the other as a Valentine's day gift!! I'll never own either one, and I am sure both are a kick in the pants, but which one? I'll do some reading up, but I was wondering what folks here thought.

I'm not a big fan of Euro super cars -- maybe because they are so far out of my league -- but I have more curiosity about the feel of the Lambo than I do for the Ferrari. Don't know why.

I got this gift for Christmas. I opted for the Lambo because my Brother in law is rich and I'm sure through him I'll get the chance to drive a Ferrari
He has a Maserati right now and it has the Ferrari V8 in it but I have always had a thing for Lamborghini so I wasn't passing up the chance to drive one. I told the instructor even if I just get to drive around the parking lot I'll be happy

It was awesome but too short, the instructor was super cool and really let me beat on it. Sheriffd2 and I went over there the Sunday after Christmas.

Here's the car I drove,

I have had the pleasure to drive both. The Lambo is a great car but the overall feeling of the Ferrari is better right down to the smell of the leather! Either way you cant lose. Hope they have a 458 Italia instead of the F430l. It is sooooo far and away a better car!

Will they be at full power or detuned?? I'd say Lambo, but you can't lose either way.

To drive for 3 Laps: Ferrari, no question about it.

To drive daily: Lamborghini

Just remember, the 430 Scud was built to be an all out track superstar. The Galardo was built to look great, drive fast, and be driven semi-regularly. I seriously doubt the Lambo will be anywhere near as exhilarating on the track.

In this situation there's no contest.

XQIZT-
A few months ago I did a three lap in a F430 and Gallardo at Atlanta Motorsports park.
F430
*The Ferrari had great balance, quick turn in and sharp response.
*did not feel much faster than my C6. The engine lacks torque and you need to keep the revs high
*The F1 single clutch transmission was great fun.
*Brakes were great.
*Sound was incredible.
*I am 6-2 / 225 and I fit just as well inside as in my C6, excellent driving position and view
*The Ferrari has the horn buttons somewhere near the steering wheel rim so I mistakenly hit the horn a few times.

Gallardo
*Great balance, tendancy to understeer as you push harder, remedied with more power
*Felt significantly faster than my C6 and was very quick out of corners with AWD
*Keep revs high
*F1 single clutch transmission was horrible. Slow to shift up and even slower to downshift. big difference from the Ferrari
*Great brakes
*Loud exhaust. sounded great at high rpm
*Car felt as it floated over bumps/dips in the track, felt like shocks were worn out, but still stayed planted.
*Very responsive but not as balanced or quick to change direction as the F430
*I did not have enough headroom while wearing a helmet even with the seat pushed all the way back and at its lowest setting. If you are driving a ragtop, not an issue.

What track are you driving on? If it is a very technical track, the Ferrari might be more fun. If the track has long straights, choose the Lambo. Both were great fun. I spoke with someone I know at the track who has a Gallardo among other exotics and he said the transmission is like that in all Gallardos, not only the one I drove. If you have the option, choose a car with a twin clutch F1 transmission, such as a 458 Italia or Murciealago. Any way you go I doubt you will be disappointed. If you own (or can borrow) a couple of GoPro cameras, bring them with the suction mounts. I had three GoPros (1 inside 2 outside) and my wife took a camcorder. Made a cool video after editing. Have fun!

*One more thing... we were not allowed to run flat out. We had to follow a pace car and had an instructor in the car. If you want to run faster, leave a bit more room in from of you when you enter the track from the pits. Three laps goes by real fast.

Lamborghinis are 10 times cooler then Ferraris, Ferraris are not as fast as they test in mags because before a Ferrari test car can be used at a track by a mag Ferrari engineers goes out with the car and setup it for that track.
