I had mine replaced with the same type as original. The battery compartment is pretty tight so care must be exercised if you are going to replace it with another brand to make sure it fits.

Yup, replaced mine w/ a Delco a step-up from stock w/ more CCAs etc. Slid right in with some fanagling of cables. They sure made something ike changing a battery as difficult as possible.
One thing OP, go to a parts store and get a battery lifting strap.
Trust me it'll save you some bloody knucles & a LOT of bitching.

+1 on lifting cable. Also, be sure your replacement battery accomodates the overboard drain /vent tube as did the OEM. I replaced my battery last weekend with Advance Auto store brand. $97, including tax and core swap.

My car is 7 years old and I'm on my 3rd battery...........
1 year on original
1 year on Optima Red Top
5 years on Bosche from Pep Boys,
My car can sit for 3 weeks, and start up like it was yesterday with the Bosche. I've also replaced batteries in 3 additional cars with a Bosche replacement.
Bosche has my support.

Why do they call it "common sense" when, in fact, it has become so uncommon?
That's my opinion, it outta be your's. |

Yea, I haven't had to replace my vettes, but I put a Bosch in my Range Rover Sport and haven't had to worry about power issues since.

Same here. No issues. The OEM Delco lasted 6 1/2 years and even though the service dept. said the OEM still tested good I went ahead and had it replaced just to avoid a possible tow down the road.

I have had my '07 Z06 for 6 1/2 years, 41,xxx miles and it still has the original battery. This past winter I put a battery tender on the car and now when I start it, I hear this "clicking" as if the car is searching for the fob. Sometimes when I get out of it, you can still hear the clicking and the hatch will unlock. The car is starting to act as if it has gremlins. I'm thinking I might replace the battery for piece of mind.

Smart move. First indicator battery is getting ready to die - gremlins.

I started hearing the same sounds in my 2006 built in 1/2006. I just replaced the factory battery this week. I had the dealer do it. $120 for the OEM Delco installed. I felt good about it.
