I had a cat once that would not let me read anything...it would go after anything it saw that was paper

Our new kitten does this to....tears up any paper it sees plus constantly swats at your hand or foot. My brothers cat does the butt in face, but he's bad about farting on you. I also think he's a homo as he loves it when you pat his hind leg near his butt

Yes. Both of ours do. They crave attention constantly when we are watching TV and unwinding at night. Annoying as all hell, but we love 'em.

But we currently have two 100# service dogs that want to just crawl up into your lap and turn the pages for you.

I hate cat ass in my face! 
Ours always want to be petted too. When you reach out to pet them, they always walk just out of reach and look at you like you're suppose to work for it. Like it's a game. Little bastards! I won't play their game.
