Found My Build Sheet....I Think.

So i was taking apart my 77 today and when the steering colom came out there was a build sheet stuffed in between the gauges.

But i'm a little confused. The vin# in the top left dosent match mine. Looking the whole thing over it looks like its my car with all color and options.

Has any one out there had this same issue?? I am a little confused because my VIN# is 40680 and the one on the build sheet is 438177. almost 32,000 vetts made between the both.

Thanks

438177 may not be the consecutive unit number. Check the first boxes on the upper left corner. Depending on model year, the consecutive unit number may appear there. By 81 and 82, computerization had progressed to the point where VINs were being assigned before the cars were actually built and they appeared on build sheets.

Do the options and colors listed on the sheet match your car? What about dates? Are most of them close to your time/build code?

Why not gently flatten out your sheet? It would be a heckuva lot easier to rear.
