C4 Door Hinge

It appears I have some bushing and/or pin wear on my drivers door hinge. I've noticed the door hangs up a little on the striker as of late. Upon closer inspection, it appear there is a bit of up and down travel in the door that I don't have on the passenger side. Took out my parts book and it appears the bushing and pin are separate parts from the hinge. I'm a bit surprise since I've had the car for 20 years and it's got 50k on it. Has anyone dissembled the hinge and replace these parts? I'm wondering how to get the pin out.

It may be easier to replace the entire hinge assembly from another C4 or find GM NOS Hinge.
Or can try & purchase pins & bushings separate.

The pin will drive out with a punchif still tight. If you have that much ware on it they may well fall out once the spring is removed. Spring looks like a sideways "s" on the upper hinge. Most corvette supplier have a tool to remove and replace the spring. Me being stuborn and stupid well I use a large screwdriver and usually bust a knuckle or two . Much easier to do if you remove the hinges but with the tool it can be done on the car. If they are worn bad you will probably have to drill the holes out for oversized bushings. Go check the "help" product section of your local auto parts chain. They will usually have a pin and bushing set for chevy trucks. Same pin but bushings are a bit larger o.d. they are what I have used in the past. Hope this helps
