And yet amazingly, no one is actually talking about taking away all guns from people.

Actually, it's not about taking ANY guns from ANYBODY. It's about future sales. I believe the effort is completely meaningless as far as reducing crime because of the 300M guns already out there. But we at least need to be accurate when describing what they are trying to do. Are there people out there (including the president) who would LIKE to see all guns confiscated? You bet. And vigilance is warranted. But this time around, they are talking about something that affects no one who already owns a legal weapon.

Usually law abbiding people that have something like that usually don't commit crimes with it. The average person can't afford something like that anyways.

Point is that there are some restrictions on what can be owned and what can't be. It's all a matter of where each individuals personal "line in the sand" is.
Personally, for me...all I feel I need for protection/target shooting is a basic firearm. I don't need hundreds of rounds or the ability to cut down a tree without reloading. I think that most people feel the same way.
Other than "because I can" or "I hunt packs of coyotes on the back 40," no one has really cited a reasonable answer as to why they need an arsenal vs. protection. But that's been discussed so I don't even want to get into it.

To have the license to own a full auto weapon is expensive and such a pita that most people don't. I have an uncle that has a class 3 license and he said there is so much red tape and bs that it isn't worth it. Most full auto guns cost $10,000+ plus the license.

And thats totally fine with me. The problem is I have friends that their hobby is not Corvettes, turbochargers or big blocks. Its cool high powered guns and yes a couple of them have the licence for full auto. Why can't they persue their legal hobbies?

For the same reason that we're not allowed to pursue our Top Fuel Dragster hobby on the public streets. It's dangerous to the public and laws have been put in place.
I have no problem with hobby gunners. Seriously I don't. But times they are a changin'. Maybe this: you can own these high power type guns for "pleasure" shooting...but it stays locked up at the club of your choice or where ever it is you decide to go shoot.
I don't know the exact solution, but SOMETHING is going to happen and unless people all work together on this, some law is going to get jammed through and its gonna be bad.

The simple answer is strickly enforce exsisting gun laws and make any crime commited with a gun manditory jail no matter the age. and I mean like 10yrs min Hard labor not this air conditioned color TV and 3 hots with a cot bullshit either

That too. And there was even some psyche eval laws passed after the Virignia Tech shooting too. So all this talk about that is also just circling back on existing laws.
