Code 43, 82 Vette

So WinALDL is showing the CEL I've been getting as code 43, Knock/ESC. I looked and the knock sensor has been replaced with one from a later model vette. It just started doing this recently. I know I can get a new sensor, but I'm not at all sure where the ESC module is, can y'all help? And also, does anyone carry new modules? Thanks!

Update:

Found and fixed. The wire from the knock sensor had contacted the header and burned thru the insulation. I spliced in a new section to replace the burnt one, re-routed the wire to keep it away from the headers and the CEL went away. I do love the easy fixes!

Aaaaand another update...

The check engine light came back. Totally replaced the pigtail to the knock sensor, no joy. Head scratchin time...

Found the ESC module, behind the ECM in the battery compartment. Pulled the connector, wow that was A LOT of crud in there! Cleaned it out and got as much as I could out of the other end. End result? Light is now out. So, it wasn't quite as simple as it looked to be, but still easy enough. So, for any of you 82 owners out there that are getting the Code 43 CEL, clean the contacts on the ESC behind the ECM.

Also, did some research, what the previous owner must have done was swap out the no longer available 82 knock sensor for an 84. Makes sense, they should be calibrated pretty similarly, both L83's. All fixed and there is joy in South Georgia again, well, at least at my house there is...
