Micro fiber vs foam pads

Any thoughts on which is best or when to use one verses the other on a pc7424xp?

Only one opinion counts and that is the one from the revered Godfather of Detailing -- the one and only Junkman. I'm sure he will chime in soon enough.

Well I'm still working with microfiber buffing pads and I plan to do a video on them very soon but my overall feeling about them and the PC is that they really cut down on the amount of work required to fix some damage. You have to follow the directions concerning using them though or you will burn them up. The last thing you want to do is turn the polisher all the way up and try to buff with them. That destroys them. They work best on slower speeds and still do an outstanding amount of work.

I recommend the Meguiar's microfiber system. That's also the one that I will be doing my video series on. If you already have the PC, just get the kit without the polisher.
