65,376,373 Guns Bought Since Obama Took Office
Methinks people might not trust this guy..
91% More Than Bush's First-Term Total
There have been 65,376,373 background checks completed for Americans purchasing firearms since February of 2009, the first full month of Barack Obama's presidency.
According to data compiled by the FBI, the number of Americans purchasing guns has skyrocketed since Obama was elected.
In 2009, there were 13,984,953 background checks for Americans buying firearms. If we subtract the 1,212,860 checks completed in the month of January, the total checks for the year under Obama were 12,772,090.
For 2010, background checks totaled 14,320,489. In 2011, checks were 16,336,732, and in 2012, 19,463,832. Background checks for the month of January 2013 were 2,483,230.
This totals 65,376,373 background checks completed since President Obama's first full month in office, or 44,748 background checks per day!
By comparison, the number of background checks in Obama's first term is 91.1% higher than President George W. Bush's first-term total of 34,214,066

I hope some of those are in the hands of men that are not afraid to use them.

Why do they call it "common sense" when, in fact, it has become so uncommon?
That's my opinion, it outta be your's. |

And the gun makers are laughing all the way to the bank. Unfounded fear is making them multimillionaires. What happens in a few years when all your predictions of doom and gloom turn out to be just as accurate as the Mayans?

Hey that explains why Walmart cant seem to keep ammo on the shelves.
I dont own guns because of the president. And I sure as hell didnt buy my last one because of him. But I enjoy all of my guns equally and if I need protection at least I can shoot back. What are you going to do throw a piece of china at the burglar while begging for someone with a gun to show up to save your ass?

Huh? I didn't say that.
This article seeks to directly correlate the increased gun purchases to the fact that Obama is president. Maybe not for you, but for some part of the 65mil+ that occurred since 2009.
My point is that all the people that are buying into this doom and gloom (maybe not you) are going to feel pretty silly when it all comes to pass and nothing happens.
Meanwhile, the manufacturers love it. They don't care WHY people are buying, just that they ARE buying.

What's better, to prepare and something happen? Or to laugh, and get washed away in the flood?

There's a world of difference between "being prepared" and "being paranoid"

Newb...be honest with yourself....don't respond here, because the truth will tarnish your big boy tough Texan persona.
Seriously, if shit is gonna go down uber-bad, it is completely irrelevant if you have 1 gun or 99 guns or 9,999 guns. You know that right?
Shh....just tell it to yourself.

I only have one gun, and it's big enough to protect my home. I hear a lot about having an arsenal to protect ones self when society breaks down. Does anybody really think surviving is going to be good thing when society breaks down? You can't be vigilant 24/7/365 against the marauders, gangsters and rapists that will be coming for you, and if you survive those guys, you may have food and water for a few months or a year or two, but what then? I mean, is survival really even a worthwhile goal when unabridged anarchy reigns permanently? Not for me. Fortunately, I don't think society is going to break down in my lifetime. I'll leave it to my grown kids to decide if it's worth all the effort to them to live in a bunker with no food or water after the first year or two has past.
