...I don't know why but the stance on the Vette looks greater
than all the previous models...

It is wider than previous base models (but just a tiny bit more than C5), but not the C6 Z cars.
C7- 73.9
C6-72.6
C6 Z06- 75.9
C5- 73.6

The SS seems too much like a Holden for my taste.
As the kids say, "meh".

same here. but even for a Holden looks a bit outdated. When I first saw the SS I thought Chevy must be joking. i think we are in 2013, are we not?!

regarding the width of the C7. Is it me, or was there a talk between Welburn and Akerson or some CEO and they agreed on the C6 is a bit too wide...

Nice to the see the Camaro next to the Vette. The Camaro looks like a Camaro and the Vette looks like a Vette.

Chevy should call it the Impala. Give it the DOHC V-6 as the base motor, LS3 optional, Impala SS with HO LS3(430hp) with 6 sp manual option. JMHO

I agree. Welburn is VP of Global Design, so he is responsible for both the C7 and the bland Catera/Omega-type looks of the Commodore/SS. Perhaps his talent peaked as a designer and is over his head in managing Global design teams. As you say the SS is, "Not ugly, but..." Not impressive either.

The pre-Welburn regime put this concept SS out there:

The SS is more or less a Pontiac G8 GXP with a new LT1.
