Z51 with incorrect shocks

Hi I have an 07 vette with z51 package.I ordered from factory. It has 22k miles on it and iwas recently in for an oil change. We noticed that the 2 rear shocks were leaking. What BS! Anyway the shocks are not Bilstein shocks. If you had a z51 in 07 wasnt bilsteins standard on the z51 package. I couldnt read the brand but i think it was ac /delco.The shocks are black and not bilstein yellow. Can anyone help with that info? THANKS

Looks correct to me. I believe the base suspension has Blistine and the Z51 has AC Delco.

No they didn't come with Bilsteins. I have an 05 Z51 and mine leaked around the same mileage as yours. I installed the H/D Bilsteins and no more wheel hop under full throttle, although the ride quality was slightly compromised but more stable around the twisties, works for me. As for the factory shocks wheelhop was a common theme under full throttle.

bilstein hd or sport

thank you guys for all your help. Which is the firmer ride bilstein hd or sport. I hate to be a wussy but i drive my z51 every day and the car is being shaken apart by the firm z51 shocks.Maybe cause they r leaking but i think a softer ride is better for every day. Is this something u can do yourself and do u know of any online info on changing shocks.Dealer wants 400.00

Bilstein HD's are the firmer ride. If you are planning on modifying your power level and installing drag radials the HD's will work better against wheel hop and pretty much eliminates it. I would have them installed by a capable mechanic or the dealer if you are not mechanically inclined. I have no issues with the ride quality as different tires will dictate the level of firmness you will experience.
