I think the pic is showing us the mechanical, impact generated, lever actuated, scrolling ribbon type manual word processor on the left side of the screen. What was that device called??

Dunno. I actually used one of those thingy..but only because it was passed down to me from my mom. We also had one of the "fancy" IBM Selectric machines with the ball.

I thought that ball was the shit when it first came out. My wife types about 120 WPM and watching that bouncing, flopping twisting ball was a real treat. Of course I was and still am easily amused.
