Issues removing battery from 2001 C5

My three year old wet cell battery may have to be replaced. What issues will I have when I remove and replace the battery?

I was concerned about TheftLock and other electronic memory issues. I read up on TheftLock and found out that my radio isn't locked and that there shouldn't be any other issues involved with removing the standing 12 voltage from the C5.

I also found out that the C5 will not pass emission inspection if there has been a memory loss involving the PCM. So I have to get the new battery after my emissions I/M 240 dyno test.

I disconnect my battery AND leave it disconnected for weeks at a time when working on my car. Weeks, because I'm too lazy to just finish the job. The only thing I have ever had to do after reconnecting the battery is set the clock.

Done.

Yes there is the "Radio" issue if you activate the security feature. I am the most paranoid person alive, but even I never worried about anyone stealing my stock radio!

And the thing of it is, the damage breaking in and the damage to the dash will be more expensive than the value of the radio!

Someone broke into my Son's Honda and stole a DIN receiver with four holes for a removal tool. And caused 500 dollars damage to remove a 200 dollar DIN radio -- that with two 1 dollar tools- could be removed in seconds with no damage to the dash at all! Instead-the DA used a big screw driver to pry the dash apart !
