Hood Scoops 1985 coupe

You guys know of any scoops or hoods that allow more air circulation in the engine compartment yet keep out water in the rain??.

The '84 stock hood incorporates Air Induction that picks up cooler air from outside the engine compartment and forces it through two large channels in the hood, which connect to the air cleaner.

I believe the '85 TPI resulted in that hood channel being deleted. If yours doesn't have the channels, let us know.

D

I can't find them now but someone once showed a pic of two vents that looked louvered and went on the top of the hood near the back above the battery area on one side and the washer resovor on the other. He then painted them to match the car and I thought they looked pretty good. Had a nice flow to them.

Here's a pic of something like them. I thought his were further back. These appear to be right above the wheels which doesn't make much sense. I don't see how they could vent the engine compartment from there.

I would NEVER AGAIN BUY a single item from c-5 west as I bought thier VIPER STYLE hood scoop, it was the cheapest trash you could imagine, TOTALLY over priced and not as described, it was simply a very thin curved dome with no under pining or structuall strength and it needed hundreds of dollars worth of work to install correctly, it came with minor shipping damage and it was $250 wasted

while not a great deal better this was a far better fit and deal at less cost even with shipping included

Yep, I bought those hood louvers from C5 West. They are cheap chopper-gun construction. I spent several hours cutting and massaging the openings. In the end it was not what I wanted.

Still have them collecting dust on my bench. Anyone want them? Maybe I can sell them to one of the Ricers in town?
