I had the 03 Cobra. That car was a piece of shit too. Don't get me wrong, it was fast and pulled really really hard, but the fit and finish just sucked!!! Rattles, body panels not lined up, thin paint, the list just goes on and on. I had to bring that car into the dealership 11 times over a 2 month period to get misc problems repaired with it. All of this with a car that had 9000 miles.
A car with 9000 miles needed:
-New rack and pinion bushings (due to squeaking front end when you went over bumps)
-IRS removed and retorqued (due to popping noises when you had the car in reverse)
-Entire new Rear End Assembly (due to leaking Rear differential fluid)
-New Lower Front Control Arms (due to squeaking front end that replacing bushings didn't help)
-New Speedo Servo Controller (cruise control went out on the car)
-New Belts including S/C belt (the engine would squeal like a stuck pig)
-New Clutch, pressure plate, and TOB (The ToB actually broke in half when they took it off
-New Shims installed in the seats (due to the seat rubbing against the passenger side)
-Convertible top removed and realigned (the passenger door window would get caught on the top when you would shut it)
Needless to say, I was fucking glad to get rid of this piece of shit car. Its fast and all that crap, but when you have to take time off work to get it fixed once-twice a week, that gets old pretty fast. The funny thing was that this wasn't just an issue with my vehicle. Just about everything that went wrong with my car had a TSB out on it, and repair procedures from Ford.
Another problem that I could NEVER find was that when you got the car to 60 mph, it would rock from side to side like your rims were bent or something. TSB said this was due to unbalanced driveshaft, but I sold the car before I decided to open that pandora's box of bullshit.
My two happiest days with that 03 Cobra: the day I bought it, and the day I sold it. I NEVER had any issues with any of the Corvettes I purchased. After all, they weren't 15,000 dollar cars with really expensive drivetrains and engines. (Which is exactly what a Cobra is, btw).
