[LS9 DOHC info?] I have something to show you
I was a bit surprised to see this the other day, thought you would enjoy seeing it as well.
Is this the first mention of DOHC for the LS9?
EDIT: Look in <upper right corner> of document for "DOHC" and <center> for LS9 reference.

I had to look at that 3 times before I found the "DOHC" (upper right hand corner). LOL
What is this document?

First mention of DOHC for sure... but what does the "G" stand for?
Hmmm.
PS. Thanks for the watermark!

I was just in the right place at the right time. What you see is what it is.

I haven't the slightest idea. Not my area of expertise.

could be 6.0L V8 G DOHC
or it could be 6.0L V8 GD OHC ?
The LT5 ZR1 motor was the last DOHC by chebby, right?
What is the benefit of a DOHC motor with a super charger? Educate me!

DOHC would provide power higher in the rev band and move overall airflow to the cylinder. Supercharging would give the same benefit to a DOHC as it would SOHC or OHC. The DOHC would make for a very strong top end provided the head is of a good design.

The G could stand for Gasoline. Just guessing.

I don't know about the Northstar, but the LT5 was a Lotus design and I think the Ecotec (4 banger) is basically a Toyota motor.
I'm not particularly found of the idea of going DOHC. Our pushrod motors are pretty stout power producers and much more wrenchable by the devoted enthusiast. I think the LT5 motors had to be actually extracted and sent back to the factory for anything other than about a plug change
I associate DOHC with hi-rev dramatics, and hi dollar exotics. Cool, but not really what I want in a Vette. We'll see.

Maybe the "Corvette" the LS9 is going in is indeed "exotic" ... not just a car that can beat exotics.

With all these rumours of superchargers and smaller motors along with 08 emissions meaning no 427 NA any longer and I am becoming convinced that an order for an O7 Z06 is in my future.

IMO, It can have 10 cams, as long as it makes good HP.
