2010 Blade Silver ZR1

Corvette Z07!

I just posted this on Z06vette.com:

Automobile Magazine, August 2006, page 56:

Corvette Z07 might be the name for the next Super Vette.

Supercharged, 650hp, more carbon fiber body parts, and a huge hood vent.

Picture is awesome!!! Price expected about $100,000.

If you don't believe me, buy the magazine!

More info:

"Tom Wallace has a 650 hp trick up his sleeve. A new super Corvette will build on Z06's 7.0 liter LS7 V8 that was developed in sync with the Corvette C6R LeMans racer."

"Supercharged to bump output by 145 hp."
"Huge hood vent aimed at killing front end lift."
"Chevy will undercut competition by pricing the Z07 at about $100,000.

The mag says "we think they'll go with Z07 or maybe Z06 R."

I really hope the mag is right on with this, because the pic is absolutely drop dead gorgeous, and it's yellow!

Patrick, not sure what you mean by your picture question, but it looks to me like an actual picture rather than an artist's sketch.

Does that help?

Well, the closest Automobile magazine is about 5 miles away at the book store and I've got another 10 hours of work to do today.... so it'll have to wait I guess.

No way will that be it.

No one will pay $100,000 for a car with just a killer engine. They want killer looks too.

Nice try Automobile mag, but no cigar.

I also don't believe that Z07 is a possible name. MTI holds the rights to that one.

See I think that it is quite beautiful, in the way that all Corvettes are beautiful. Simplistic but everything that is there has a function and thats what makes Vettes pretty to me.

Thats what amazed me when I had the good fortune to work at P&M last year and stare at the C6R's everyday. Everything was so beautifully designed and functional that it could only be a Corvette, there was no excess or abundance of unnecessary things.

I think that they are close except for the NACA ducts on the rear end, they already have brake ducts and I can't figure what else those might be used for. If it was trans/diff cooling or gas cooling you should be sucking that air from under the car.
