'58 - '59 - '60 Vette Differences

Could anybody please inform me of the major, yearly changes (mechanical, body, or interior) of the '58,'59, & '60 model year Corvettes. Also, if anybody out there could choose one of the three model years, which would you choose and why? Thank you.

1958 - New body style with dual headlights was introduced.

1959 - Minor improvements, removed the 1958 fake hood vent moldings and trunk "iron rails."

1960 - Little change from 1959. No exterior changes.

Model year diff's

Personally, I'd be happy with any of them since I'd turn it into a hotrod anyway.

Thanks for the info Patrick. One more question though; what size wheels did the '59 come with? Thanks.

The wheels on a '59 are 15"x5.5". The two tire options, whitewall and blackwall, were sized 6.70x15.

Early 58s didn't have the refector under the tail lamps like 59 and 60s did. Early 59s had offset valve cover bolts while the later 59s had the straight across pattern. There were small differences but not many.

exterior key locks on the 60 are flat

59 it has a 'step' to it

there's your 'exterior' change from 59 - 60

59 had horizontal stitching in the seats
60 had vertical

60 was the first year of the color bars behind the grab handle

and I'm PRETTY sure it was the first year of the package tray
