Tech 1A / OBD II Interface Cartridge Problems

I own a Vetronix Tech 1A diagnostic computer. One of the accessories is the P/N 02002178 OBD II Interface Cartridge.

When I run a self-test on the Tech 1A (no master cartridge installed) and perform self-test F8: AUXILIARY CARTRIDGE, I get a screen that says "AUX. CARTRIDGE NOT PRESENT" although the OBD II cartridge is securely inserted in the auxiliary cartridge slot in the Tech 1A.

I was wondering if anyone out there has the same gear and, if so, would report the results of the same test to me?

The test may be failing because the P/N 02002178 cartridge may not have an EPROM and therefore this checksum validation test would fail. However, in that case should the screen say "CHECKSUM FAILED", or "AUX. CARTRIDGE NOT PRESENT" (because of the lack of an EPROM to test)?

I have to admit I'm confused and don't know if the cartridge is functioning or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RACING...Because with baseball, football, basketball, tennis, and golf, you only need one ball

I used to think that I had learned patience as I got older. Then I realized that I just didn't give a shit
