Air system bank 2 fault - code P1416

I've got a fault code P1416 and my check engine light is on. Anyone have any advice on a fairly simple troubleshooting/repair process, or is this one for the shop? When it comes to the Z, my DIY skills are limited. Thanks.

I got that code but it was actually a bad battery. Apparently there wasn't enough juice to run the air check valve system properly. The next day my car died. Tried charging the battery but it died the day after I recharged it. Put in new battery. Engine light gone. Problem solved.

If it's not the battery, then I would find a local mechanic who specializes in Corvettes because the dealer wants $800 to fix it. Vette mech quoted me $350 to fix.

Good luck.

If this is the check valve that is behind the intake manifold, then in most cases, the intake must be removed. Dealer price is about $450. While they're doing that, it is a good idea to replace the knock sensors, which are also in an inaccesible place, once the intake manifold is back on.

I've had this done, twice. It seems to happen every 2-3 years and as far as I know, there is no upgraded check valve available. Like the oil pressure sensor, some people have remotely located this check valve.

If my #2 air check valve goes out, I will ask my mechanic if he can put it somewhere else. So much trouble to access for a $20 part!

Another thing that I might add is to clear your codes (on the DIC) after you replace the battery. Of course, as long as the check engine light stays out, this will ensure that the air check valve system is working properly. I have driven over 200 miles with the new battery and so far no check engine light.
