Oh is that sweet! Imagine if someone bought a set of track tires and rims and tires, then some stiffer brakes for that mean ride! I'm aure you could dust everyone off the tracks then.

what are "stiffer" brakes? I think it just needs some new tires.

BEST QUOTES FROM THE ARTICLE...
•"Spending double the ZO6's price does not guarantee that you'll
have a car that can beat it"
•"If we hadn't missed an autobahn exit, we'd have made the
85-mile trip to Spa in record time"
•"Weighs only 1lb more than the Carrera GT"
•"An engine that could twist a maple tree like a wash rag"

AND THE BEST OF THEM ALL...

•... "THE ARRIVAL OF A CAR THAT EXPOSES THE MAJORITY OF
EUROPEAN SPORTS CARS FOR WHAT THEY ARE:
OVERPRICED UNDERPERFORMING SNOBS"

I love it! But one thing. Does it not do as will if not better on the skidpad then the old ZO6. The older one did a 1.06g right. They only gave this one a .98g

One thing I took from reading between the lines was that the 2LZ package adds 15 pounds. Not too bad for everything you're getting! And I'm pretty sure their numbers were still fantastic, great article.

Great Post! Thanks!

I've noticed that on C&D's TV show they've had a younger host for the last two years or so who refreshingly admits to being a vette fan. Seems he has influenced the rag too. That's Great!

On the other hand, I just picked up the new R&D tonight - subscr. ran out - and they are more predicatble than the vette's handling. Don't get me wrong, they haven't trashed it, but you can almost hear them sigh grudgingly as they say something nice. The R&T performance numbers are significantly slower than C&D:

R&T:
0-60 = 4.2
0-100 = 9.0
1/4 mile = 12.3 @ 116.6
Slalom = 69.4
same skidpad

R&T didn't admit to having any problems with Eau Rouge, perhaps they never really pushed the Z06 - that would explain the significance difference in the numbers.

As incredibly fast as this car surely is, the confirmation that the steering is numb and the chassis uncommunicative means I will probably stay in the Porsche camp. These were my criticisms of the C6 Z51 and I was truly hoping the Z06 would overcome these shortcomings. Does anyone think that aftermarket mods would improve things significantly in these areas?
