I met Peter Max one time

I went to an art show where Peter Max was showing his art work. My Son-in-law can copy his work perfectly. I thought he would appreciate the complement. Peter was a DICK!!!! He acted mad. I was going to ask him about the Corvettes he owned but I just walked away. I will never walk across the street to see him again.
He is not mystic. He is an ass hole!!!!

Any new Info

Any new info on the Vettes. I use a blog as a template for writing and the author from the original times article found my piece on Peter Max. My opinion still stands as I responded to him.

OtherZ Hey gents, I just joined your forum to chime in a little. I'm a bit of a car buff as well, tho I prefer those of a German variety than Vettes. In any event, I live around the corner from the former location of Peter Max's "36". I read somewhere that someone suggested that the buidling where they were housed might be torn down, and that is definitely false. That condo is going nowhere. I actually used to park my BMW Z3 in that very garage for about 5 years. I knew about the Vettes but never really gave them much thought until one day about 5 years ago I read an article online about them. In my mind, I thought it was kinda cool that they were just hidden there and I figured they'd probably be there for a long time. The cars were in total view for anyone who went down there. I used to check out the cars every once in a while just to see if they were still there. For the most part it was hard to determine what kinda condition they were in since they literally had an inch of dust on them and were behind a chain link fence. Aside from that, I don't really know much else. I stopped parking in that garage about 2.5 years ago so I had no idea until just recently that they had been moved. I don't know if anyone knows why he moved them. My guess would be that either they were starting to get too much attention from the Vette community or perhaps the building asked him to move them. The garage itself is just one level, below ground and the area where the Vettes were took up about about 15-20% of the entire garage. The area around here is being developed and perhaps the building mgt feels it can get a lot more $ by renting those spaces out to others than whatever it's charging Peter Max. I'm just guessing here.

But anyway, I can definitely understand the passion you guys have for these cars. I wish that I had more info for you. I'd be kind of interested in knowing where they were moved to. Does anyone know who took the pics at their current location? If I had to guess, and judging from those pics, I'd say he probably moved them to some big empty warehouse, maybe in a quiter area of the city. They're probably not in Manhattan as any space there is prime $$. They may still be here in Brooklyn or one of the other boroughs.

Good luck to you guys. I have a feeling that P.M. is not gonna do anything with these cars anytime soon. In fact, their popularity or 'infamy', as well as value, may even go up the longer he holds onto them. Hopefully he'll do the right thing with them eventually. Take care fellas....

Peter Max Corvettes

I spoke with Peter Max about his Corvette at a gallery opening about 2005, and he said his plans were to move to a new facility he was building for the cars. Where are these Corvettes now? What a great project if he were to finally create these cars the way he envisioned. I'm a Corvette Artist and I would create a painting on one and I'm sure a number of significant Corvette culture people could each paint one, then auction them for a fundraiser for either the Corvette Museum or another charity. Again, where are these Corvettes now?
