Last week, GM Authority reported that the base model of the upcoming mid-engine Corvette C8, set to be called Stingray, will be powered by the 6.2-liter LT2 engine that will make around 500 horsepower. And now, less than a week before its unveiling, GM Authority has obtained new information about an upcoming GM twin-turbo engine, dubbed LT7, that is earmarked for a future, high-performance variant of the Corvette C8, potentially the C8 Corvette Z06.
Note that the LT7 is a DOHC engine that is NOT LT1 based.

Note that unlike the Cad Blackwing TT V8, the turbos are outboard, not in the "V" of the engine. IMO, it looks like efficiency and power are more highly valued in this layout, than the compactness of the revolutionary Cad layout.

I'd rather have efficiency and power over a pretty layout

I absolutely agree that they made the right choice for the C8. But, IMO, they made the right choice for the Cad too. The compact Blackwing set up will have some ultimate power limitations but it will fit into more vehicles than an outboard turbo system.

Cad is blatantly lacking in any high performance SUV models. Stick the blackwing TT into an XT5 (XT5-V?) with some upgraded all wheel drive components add some Brembos, and a lot of people here would be pricing it out as their "other/family" car...I think.

But what do I know? My tastes often don't align with the majority.
