What Sensor is this?

Changing the Harmonic Ballancer on my 98, I had to drop the starter and move it over to put the flywheel lock in. Directly above the starter is a sensor. Just what is that sensor? It goes sideways into the block. Down below it, in the pan, is another sensor. I assume that it is the oil level sensor. The reason that I ask, is that you cant see it until you move the starter.

Its the Crankshaft Position Sensor.
CPK short abbreviation.
Don't strike it hard by accident.

Thanks for the reply. I hope that I never have to change it. While I have the exhaust out of the way, I think that I will change the Fuel Filter also. 88K on the original one.
