Cold enough

Well it's minus 24 right now and still dropping.

The forcast for tomorrow morning at this time is supposed to get close to minus 30 now.

Windchill is minus 50-60

The house makes wierd noises when it's this cold.

Good day to stay in and do laundry.

(gotta keep the water running so I might as well put it to use)

one of the major reasons I built my home near the south east area of Florida, near, lake Okeechobee in mid Florida, temps today in the higher 50f range and its predicted to be in the low 60s tomorrow, if your into working on your cars, and spending time out in the garage, a tee shirt and flannel shirt, ,rather than having to wear heavy clothing just to go out to the shop

I just brought a 1/2 qt of water to a boil in a pyrex dish

Went out the back door and threw it up in the air.

"POOF" it turned into a cloud and blew away.

Wild.

I had to show my wife.

Don't get too many chances in your life to do that when it 26 below zero.

It never ceases to amaze me to watch that.

Yeah, I'mm getting bored already.

Yeah,

I remember that in 1983 like it was yesterday.

I was still an athlete back then and I went for a run in 25 below weather.

Bundled up, ski mask over my face etc.

A cop followed me real slow like for about a mile.

He pobobly thought I was crazy

Mid-50s this morning in Tampa Bay. Should be mid to high 70s later in the week - and that's the reason we spend January through April at our winter home in Florida. Back home in Upstate New York it's single digits during the day, below zero at night, and deep, continuing snow. No thanks, don't need to do that any more. Hope all of you facing nature's challenges stay safe & warm.

I was 14 in 1983 Freshman at Highschool.
Got into weight lifting.
I could Bench Press 400 lb at 130 lbs weight only.
Leg press machine I could do over 1000 lbs.
Squat with a belt 500 lbs.

I was into BMX Racing & Freestyle BMX.
Also introduced to Steet Racing that year.
Musclecars everywhere yet.

I remember being bored one of those winter days.
Bundled up and went for a ride on BMX bike and my little brother took his bike. About -20F.
Gone for 4 hours riding between 3 towns.
About a 20 mile ride roundtrip to back home.

About 10 busses shut down.
Gelled up the diesel fuel.
New Cummins ISX Engines.

The Older Navistar Maxforces still going.
What we consider junk.

9 hours out in the cold with short breaks to warm up.

Home. Go back at 8pm and work a 12 hour shift.
Keep as many running as we can.
All so kids can get to school Friday.

My Eyelashes froze together today.
How Cold it is.

My New Walls Zero Zone Thermal Coveralls work nice.
Stayed warm otherwise.
What the Ground support crew guys use at Ohare Airport in this sub zero weather.

Semi trucks all over shutdown here on the highways.
They are going nowhere.

Jet fuel added to diesel is what they do in Sibera I read to keep the diesels running -25 F to -100F below zero.
