Woa, right? What is up with that? FWIW I got back right around what I get back every year. It would be interesting to hear how others made out on their taxes vs. last year. Just to either prove or debunk these news articles that I am finding.

You need $2000- 20000 cash spare money every month to even think about building a Race Car or Race Engine.
Or to even restore a car.

Ya I know. I work in restorations. And a lot of the restorations get into more than that. Which is all part of my previous push for sanity on your car. But you will learn. If you don't already know. A barn is not quite a time warp. Racing is extreme duty and there are no parts on a car that should be left alone for 50 years and then put into extreme duty.

The only hope for those who would have to save up over time to build is to build it to last so we can enjoy it. Otherwise we spend more time without what we love just because we can not afford the attrition. I get this. And my B8 without a power adder will take all the abuse I can throw at it and last forever. Leaving me to save up for other areas of my racecar that need attention. I have done pretty well this way and I am going to have a blast testing this. So long as I keep the pilots on it I should only need to worry about changing tires and brakes.

You mean you built a C5 corvette that actually runs 15.0 seconds ET in the the 1/4 mile at the track.
On the streets of Florida it actually runs 17-18 seconds.

Whatever you run at the track its always 1-3 seconds slower on the Streets.
Unless you have Drag Radials and Do a 20 second Burnout or lay down twin strip rubber 200-500 feet long.
Then backup.
Launch it and Race on the Street.

Speaking of drag radials, what are you doing about rubber if you are getting your car back together this year? I am lookin at $6-800 for a pair of meats for the rear. I haven't heard you saying anything about tires yet?

Bullshit because I have an A/c condenser in my car? Or bullshit because my car turns its fan on and off by itself? OR bullshit because I have been actually posting time slips? What track have you been to for that claim? Show me time slips, man. Stop the bullshit and produce. Since you were 17 means a lot of races won and a lot of time spent at tracks, right? If you are 49 now. So where is the paper trail? Where are all the pictures? Where are all the big receipts for the things that made you go fast? WHERE ARE THE TIME SLIPS?!?

I say you are so full of shit right now your eyes are turning brown, guy.

Well a 57-64 Pontiac 9.3 Solid axle is much like a Dana 60.
Both good for 2000 HP.
Have both here right width 60 inch rear tracks.
One was meant for Grumpy I picked up 4.10 Posi Dana Track Lock.
4.30 magic Gear for 10's & 9's Poncho.
Mickey Drag Radials on.
Competition Engineering Slide A Link Traction Bars.
Make Cal Trax look like toys.
Hooks & Books last time I raced.
Not possible to do on any IRS Rear Corvette add Drag race traction bars.
Used on many 8-9 second ET Leaf spring GM Muscle cars.
CCE Slide A Link.

Pro Tour wants to street race they likely have to come off.
Unbolt.

I have to be able to turn 160-180 mph on the Highways here instant like a Vette.

SO Tires Race Specific.

I would never race anything older than me. I don't want to be in a race with someone who might get hurt in an accident. And I know you don't have a full cage. So without an airbag, or anti lock brakes or traction control or any safety features at all, I would never stage up next to you. If you are suicidal than you go be that by yourself. And that shit is real. Otherwise for Corvettes safety started with the C5. For the trans am, never. But most definitely not back in 1970.
