Thanks for the welcome and being honest with us. As far as I'm concerned, if you're leaving CF for DC, then there's no need for dwelling on that fact. Leave the past behind.

I haven't completely left CF yet, but I'm sure it won't be long...

But I will argue 1 point you made:

More Members does equal more Money ... but only because of the following logic:

More Members = More Traffic
More Traffic = More Vendors wanting to Advertize
More Vendors = More Ad Income & more Expense on Bandwidth

Now if the business plan is good ... the ad income should be more than the bandwidth cost ... and there you have it ... a few more $$$ every month.

And ... if you ever need more volunteer help on the site ... I am willing to help ... I like this site a lot more than CF, but until recently it never had the traffic to keep me busy ... it does now ...

But besides being an arrogant prick with obviously more $$ than sense, Patricks a pretty cool individual. That makes 2 of us (except for the $$ part)

At least he is active on the site unlike some people we knew (or heard about)

Yes Patrick, more people, more traffic, more appealing to a potential vendor.

I'd also disagree that CF was dead years ago

A simple scan of the traffic will reveal that This site didn't generate nearly the traffic in comparison.

Quality? That may be another story, but we have our BS here as well

Speaking of BS. The lounge is a major part of DC as it is with any other website of similar design. One can't possibly believe otherwise?

I came here based upon recommendations from some friends. Unfortunately, the site was too slow, the load speed sucked and there was not local comaraderie as I found it "over there"

"Over there" when someone like DINGO would come to town, we'd get together somewhere and party

Here, I never see or hear from anyone and rarely get a responce even from the ones that invited me over. If someone such as yourself had come to town, we'd have gotten together "over there", but here, we get to read about it

Sorry brother, and I know it doesn't make a hill of beans to you what I think, but "over there" had (operative word) it's advantages

"Over here" also has it's advantages and with the crew that I see migrating, whether they stay long term or bounce in and out, you have the opportunity to grow the site, hopefully make it more financially secure and hopefully make it even better

I agree with you on the CF bashing. Enough already! Lets get it out of our system and move forward

BTW, as a result of a ban on one of your members over nonesense (very similar to something you'd see at CF), I found another local site that met my needs. As a result of the meltdown at CF, I found yet another national site that also meets my needs.

I spread my time between this site and the other 2 regulary for posting and a couple of others for fun

I lurk at CF to see whats happening and keep up on local get togethers among the friends I've made there.

I'm hoping this place will have a similar effect on me? I've met (personally) a couple of quality people on here and look forward to meeting more, but IMO, we need to grow as a family as well, dysfunctional as it may be

Patrick, as you know, I'm fairly outspoken and don't mind saying whats on my mind. The 2 of us are not that far apart in that regard.

Thanks for having the site and thanks (not sure why I'm thanking you except to suck up?) for providing a little haven of R & R at this much needed time.

It's my hope that we (the refugees and those of us that came over earlier) can make this place that much better

Hey Andrew! Nice to see you here.

I met some great people through CF even though I'm a bit further away. It's one of the things I'll miss.
But if any DCers should venture into my area, shoot me a PM. Meeting Vette folks is always a pleasure.
