LOL, I understand completely. I was a member here first, took a look over there for a little while and wondered why you can't cuss, talk about racing, talk about having fun on the streets, or anything. God knows what happens when you post some girl with a corvette or not, oh yeah ban . Drink some beer and take it easy. Count from 53-107 and breath. Then resume posting at a safe level.

Just do the math. They are not equal. Simplest of all is subtract .999999999999 from 1 the answer is not zero but .000000000001??

Is it really this hard for you to understand?

and this post IS pretty silly.

Yes, .999 repeating = 1.

Last time we had this fight I changed my name from 340.29m/s to 340.289...m/s.

Don't plan to do it this time cause it is annoying as hell to type.

I guess you'd have to have been there on the last goaround to appreciate this post.

.9999 never ends, so you will never get the .0001. You are incorrect.

.999999 repeating does not and cannot equal 1, on a graph we would see y= 1 and that would be a horizontal asymtote, .99999 would get coser as you tacked on more 9s but it could to go infinity and not equall 1

I must be in the "Deja Vu" thread.

I know I've seen this before.

It's creepy.

This is like saying a bullet will never hit it's target. If you shoot a bullet at a target, you will be able to map an infinite number of points, as you just keep dividing the distance......infinitely. But the bullet still hits.

Yup, Mach 1 at sea level. (I own a 2003 Mach 1 and the mustang forums I hung out at had that name taken already, so I had to get creative.)

Nice. Very creative. Do you hang out at Mustangforums.com?

Oh, um....999999999999999999999999 is closer to 1 than .99999999

No, it was stangnet at the time, but I don't hang out there anymore.

.999999999999999999 is certainly closer than .9999 but .999... = 1

Oh cool. I read mustangforums.com, don't post anymore. Too many young kids with GTs thinking they are the shit all the time. Talk shit about the cars that can beat them and what the drivers are, yada yada yada.

Are we going to start pulling in Limits, Integrals, and derivatives?
