Did that motor have water in it? I had a 5.3 that did and the cam looks the same. Lots of rust it looks like in the picture.

Unfortunately, the hole the knock sensor is in was filled with water. It looked like it was just from it sitting and getting wet from the rain. It looks like it leaked down and a very little bit got on the cam in the front. Most of it came off with a rag and the back of the cam just has a little oil on it.

If you can find a LS6 cam ans springs, that would wake it up some. Have seen them 4 sale for around 50 bucks or so.

I can't believe that no one has caught this yet. That is an LS6 intake!!! You scored an awesome deal!!!!

how do I know - no EGR provision = LS6!

check out this site for swap parts http://www.speedhound.com/lsxswap.html

Are you talking about behind the throttle body? No Corvette intakes have an egr there only the F-bodies. Look under the intake if there are X webbing between the ports then it's a normal LS1 intake if there are crosses then it's an LS6 style.

Trey at Speedhound is a great guy. Helped me a ton on my swap, poor guy had to endure hours on the phone with me.
