'13 C6-At What Mileage Did You Change Shocks? Our streets are in dire need of repair. Most of them are concrete and not asphalt and full of potholes and chunks of concrete missing. Basically been this way since I bought the car new in '13. It is mostly a daily driver and is about to turn 50K. Would like a better ride quality and less bone jarring.

When in doubt replace the shocks.
50-80 k is typical when replaced on most daily drivers.
In theory if not leaking oil external supposed to be Ok but often the compression and rebound valving internal gets jazzed up fails.
New shocks almost always improves ride and handling.

Probably not going to happen in a Vette. We're driving sports cars and not pre-runners. We don't have the suspension travel to bounce or jounce over big bumps. If you're shocks aren't leaking they're probably OK at 50K miles and are about as good as your going to get on the ride. Sorry for the bad news.

I didn't read that from him Gunny.
Missed that.

Not entirely True.
A softer ride can be had with shocks.
Have to purchase aftermarket racing shocks.
Double adjustable on compression and rebound.
They usually coli over shock models.
Cam leave the coil springs off and use as is.
From Strange Engineering.
Viking shocks....been told so so quality on them.

Carrea used to build custom shocks for Corvettes.
Factory stock on Porsche.

Set the shocks to full soft on all 4 corners.

Bounce each corner of the car. Carefully as they are fragile cars. But get each corner bouncing as good as you can. Then stop. If the corner bounces more than 1 time on its own it is time for shocks.

Alternatively you can look at the body of each shock and see if any oil is leaking out. Either of these are a good indication of shock failure. If the Corvette makes noise when you bounce it then you might need new springs.
