Not positive yet, hoping to be there around 3 or 4. Just depends on what's going on around here before we leave.

Google map says driving time is 2h 40m which means about 2 hours max.

How long will it take you?

Don't worry 73Vettegirl, my wife and I do photography for a living on the side and I am taking my Canon 5D for pics and there will be lots of them I promise. The video on other hand is a different story. I only have a regular video camera and will have to make do with it, but I am sure most of the cars will have video cameras in them so there will probably be lots of videos too. Dan, my buddy has a V1 so it all depends on how fast we want to run and get away with it. A bunch of Vettes running fast up the interstate is going to draw LOTS of attention. So we will be reasonable.....to a point!

Guys, have fun but please be careful and keep an eye out for the motorcycles. This report is from a local NC paper.

'Tail of Dragon' claims 5th life this year
The Associated Press October 6, 2009 11:07 AM

MARYVILLE, Tenn. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says the curvy stretch of U.S. 129 that crosses the Tennessee-North Carolina border known as the "Tail of the Dragon" has claimed a fifth victim this year.

A 49-year-old Lenoir City man, Jesse Matthew Tremaine, died Saturday from injuries in an Aug. 13 motorcycle accident.
Trooper James Dalton told The Daily Times of Maryville that Tremaine entered a curve known as "Gravity Cavity" too fast, landed face down and never regained consciousness. He died at a hospice in Knoxville.
The 11-mile, 318-curve Dragon attracts motorcycle riders from around the world.
Although most of the road is in Tennessee, two North Carolina counties are negotiating over which will have responsiblity for medical emergencies on the route.

AJ, you in or out on the run? or are you still in a holding pattern? You are cleared for arrival on runway 129 heading SE, seeking confirmation on your route intentions.

I'm in a holding pattern. Got to make sure that I am not on the road with Adam's!

Now AJ, that is a setup for a video camera!!! I don't think any of us are gonna end up on the tree of shame. All you have to do is be very aware of your surroundings and don't cut blind corners in the other lane of traffic. I talked to a member of the Nashville Corvette club, back when I was a member, after a run at the dragon and he said one of the guys with them passed people in the curves....THAT is how you end up on the tree of shame...OR DEAD!!
