If energy and enthusiasm were a substitute for experience and expertise, then I could hire my 12 year old to do this job.

Welcome to the site Jim.

I'll bet it feels like a kick to the gut seeing the cars in that state after taking such great care of them while they were in your care.

Looking forward to the future outcome for these classics.

That's perfectly logical Patrick. The challenge is that Max is an Artist. In my experience, artists tend not to have that logic gene in their DNA. An extra dose of the emotion gene is included in place of Logic. Do you know if Max still has both ears?

Corvette ownership is like owning your own fountain of youth ... and we get a sip from it each time the signal turns green.

Thanks for such warm welcome...

Really appreciate the warm welcome from The Torch, Marine13 aloha Mr Cahill , matchframe, iburke, poncherello, the shield, Oldvettefan Steven, midnight902, TheBad- & of course Becky-the vettegirl & Partick....

I sincerely appreciate being welcome in this incredible community of Corvette purists...
I have great respect for the passion i see displayed here.
Congrats to all who have built such a terrific community.

The promotional campaign we made for The VH1 Corvettes won a Clio award for on air advertising and I have saved every promo (I believe we did about 12 custom commercials for it)
I will share every frame of film and video and stills I took of the Corvette collection exclusively on this site- as well as news clips, stories, memos--I saved every scrap of it as this was such a fun promotion to put together. One of the most exciting things for me was that before the VH1 Corvettes, I had never bought myself a Vette and I really don't know why...so I got to take out my frustration of never having bought a Corvette to getting to buy ALL of them... I also drove every Corvette in the collection and took every car home at least once...(many of the Corvettes in the collection were terrific, some of the cars were strong and a couple of them were downright nightmares as drivers...and I'll talk about them all)--also, I got my first vette during the "buying spree"-an 87 convetible with red leather-a sweet sweet machine.

I also got to meet some of my heros (rock stars, Corvette platform engineers, GM legends, even Jim Wangers who was the father of GTO advertising in the 60's and a personal hero of mine-we did a promo spot based on one of his classic GTO ads done during the DeLorean era at Pontiac)---all during the making of the campaign and I will share all the stories as we review the Corvette Collection campaign here...it will be fun to share all of this stuff with such terrific folks who truly appreciate the Corvette and its legend.

Couple things --a few of you mentioned calling the 900 # to enter the contest...
one of the things MTV said to me when they gave me the $$$ to do this was
"find a way to recoup the cost"-so we came up with the $2 call interactive as a means to try and get the $$$ back...AT&T gave us 1.49 per call -they kept the rest as a service charge...
(this was, of course eons before the web)

I spent $610,000.00 on the collection and on the very first day the phone lines were open, we got 190,000 calls...
over 280,000 dollars back in 1 Day!!!...

I'll have to check the exact totals but I believe we recouped the entire investment in less than two weeks-it was that wild...
Anyway-consider my story and what happens next an exclusive to digitalcorvettes...I'm planning on talking to Patrick shortly (possibly as early as tommorow) and I think we'll have some fun together in the not too distant future...

Thanks again guys for the very warm welcome and, of course
stay tuned
Peace
Jim Cahill
