Thanks bro! Truth be told, this car was so bad and needed so much that I actually played with the idea of cannibalizing the drive train for my C-3. Glad I didn't now.

I challenge you to find another 17 year old car that gets as many admiring/envious looks as a well taken of Corvette (other than an exotic like a Ferrari or Lamborghini).

I've been lucky enough to own and drive our C4 here and in Europe and let me tell you it's definitely NOT looked down upon overseas, and I've neve felt as though it was looked down up here

My wife has suggested to me many times that I should sell it and get a C5 (which she likes better). No way, the C5 has grown on me over time but I wouldn't replace my 90 with one.

I hear ya. Corvette ownership costs and repairs are definitely a labor of love. I've told myself more times than I can remember that if it'd been any other car, I would have said, "feck it!" a long time ago...

After all the reading on this thread, I'm still not seeing the snubbing. I have yet to meet anyone who didn't give me a complement. (Of course, to keep things in prospective, I live in cowboy country, so most folks around here are impressed with anything that ain't a dadgum pickemup)

I have always thought that the Design Center guys/gals have the Ferrari as the their target vehicle, stylistically speaking. The Vette being the American interpretation of the latest Pinninfarina look but at a beer budget. However, I never thought that beer would cost as much as the Z06 does now.

It's the comradery of enthusiast owners such as yourself that sealed the deal for me.

See, when you buy a Corvette, you don't just purchase a car, you get one, great, big, dysfunctional family! Seriously, Corvette peeps are the salt of the earth.

The first year I attended a CF Cruise-In event in Bowling Green, the guys fixed my leaking intake gasket in the parking lot of the Baymont Hotel with the precision of a crack cardiovascular surgical team.

And I didn't know anyone from Adam personally, only virtually. That's love!

Worst comment I ever got at a corvette show, from a C5 owner.

"Park the $h!t box around back and keep it out of sight, and by the way the fee is $30, do you have that kind of money".

He sounds like a world-class dickwad. Thankfully, I haven't been snubbed like that yet. Talk about gettin' played like a wet food stamp.

Well, I did date this chick who kept calling my `91 coupe a "porsche convertible".

But, she was blonde, put out, and had a couple of major league yabbos... So a Porsche convertible it was.
