I disagree. I have used Vista for about a year now. It is very stable (use 2GB RAM) and very fast actually. I have it on my Alienware M9700. I have no complaints, and I think anyone who keeps their hardware up to date and buys quality hardware won't have many complaints.

Former Democrat Elbert Guillory:
At the heart of liberalism is the idea that only a great and powerful big government can be the benefactor of social justice for all Americans. But the left is only concerned with one thing ó control. And they disguise this control as charity. Programs such as welfare, food stamps, these programs arenít designed to lift black Americans out of poverty, they were always intended as a mechanism for politicians to control the black community

from within

The danger for all the world's greatest super powers is from within. The Soviet Union collapsed from within. The Roman Empire faslo rom within. Also, Historically when a nation's defense spending reaches 40% it is on the way out. Men have been beating plow share into swords for too long. .

Mom and pop shouldn't have to by a high performance machine just to run the operating system because Microsoft lacks the ability to release an efficient one. Simply put, feature rich means bloated. There is way to much overhead to handle 80% of the personally used systems. JMHO and having to get my neighbors new HP dual core 3gb laptop back up this afternoon so he can Yahoo. It took well over a minute to complete boot up.

Vista boots faster than XP on most systems.

You're pretty much repeating exactly what was said about XP when it was first released. Putting Vista on an old machine is a recipe for slowness...just like putting XP on an old machine...just like putting 98 on an old machine...etc.

If you want a fast machine you should use PuppyLinux...it takes all of a few seconds to boot and it's more than what 99% of the people using computers need.

How did we get on the subject of computers in a political thread?

I figured that...you just usually aren't the type to troll (at least I didn't think so).

PuppyLinux is a fun little distro though. It'll fit on a 128 MB flash drive IIRC.
