Well, all I can do is look at how teams from the ACC and SEC were ranked at the end of the last season (since that's the most recent data).

http://www.sbnation.com/college-foot...inal-2014-2015

Composite ranking of SEC teams:
Alabama #3
Georgia #6 (Tie w/FSU)
Mississippi State #11
Ole Miss #12
Missouri #15
Auburn #18

Composite ranking of ACC teams:
FSU #6 (Tie w/UGA)
Georgia Tech #8
Clemson #13
Louisville #24

So the SEC has more teams represented, with a narrower range of final composite rankings. I'm not saying it means anything - it's just an observation. Each team has to play, irrespective of how strong (or weak) their conference is. At least they aren't in the B1G.

Since I watch a lot of ACC and SEC football, I'm just relying on my own judgement that Grantham will probably have an easier time in the ACC than he did in the SEC. He might not - it could be that his defense will be progressively bad at Louisville just like it was at UGA. For your sake, as a Louisville fan, I hope he has learned from his time at UGA, and does a better job for you guys than he did for us. Just be prepared for inexplicable defensive calls - ones where you find yourself yelling at the TV to stop before the opposing offense eats your lunch. Just look at some of the UGA defensive meltdowns during the Grantham reign and you'll see what I mean. Just be careful - it may cause your complexion to be significantly paler than it currently is...

And since I lived on Fort Knox for a few years, I like Kentucky teams (except when they are playing UGA or Georgia Tech). So, best of luck to Louisville as they face Auburn tomorrow. I still think they lose, though.

But like you said earlier, that's why they play the game! I would rather play and lose to a Georgia than play and win against an Appalachian State. We seem to do better in those games.

I'm with you there. I'd rather lose to a worthy opponent than mop up the field against a cream puff.

You can't get better unless you play stiff competition, although Kentucky seems to be the exception to that rule.

Now that IS relevant. They'd be ranked higher if they weren't busy knocking each other off.

By the way, not all of those loses were against fellow conference members!

So why UK is always at the bottom of their conference if they are playing such stiff competition? UofL has changed conferences like 5 times in the last 20 years and has risen to the top of every one of them. They have also won their conference title in multiple sports. UK has only won a conference title in ONE sport, and they have been in the SAME conference for like a hundred years!

Louisville beat Florida the first time that they played them in our modern times. UK hasn't beat Florida in 29 years! Hell, you hadn't beat Tennessee in about that same amount of time until year before last! When playing good competition, Louisville has consistently gotten better. Remember when Big East basketball was like SEC football? Who won multiple conference titles SHORTLY after joining with the last two being back to back? That's right, UofL.

It's just a matter of time before we will be on top of the ACC and dominating, just like we've always done in every conference we've played in. The only variable is time.

Don't think for a minute that I'm any kind of Auburn fan boy.

I generally root for Wisconsin because I live up here (and U of I sucks), so showing me that highlight just reminded me of an even better one...

Good thing Grantham was gone, because he would have set the defense to give up 37 points - not 7...

As I said last night in another thread...

I am not at all impressed by Auburn and that national title in going to be within reach a hell of a lot sooner than your 20 year prediction. Mark my words, the only thing people will see in a few weeks is that Louisville lost by 7 to the SEC's supposed best. How we lost won't even be a discussion, just the fact that we beat the Vegas odds.

Yea, 'Bama... we comin'.
We have an entire season of football to play here. You would think that Ponch would know by now that counting his chickens before they hatch is not a smart thing to do father time is going to teach him that lesson again this year.

I saw the Freshman stud with the 100 yards passing and a total QBR of 57.4..... I'd hardly call him the next Johnny Unitas or Teddy Bridgewater just yet.
