Didn't this thread start out being about middle-aged 'Vette enthusiasts? Somehow it has degenerated into a discussion of what REALLY excites the 'Vette lover. Hmmmmm ...

Yea, and I feel somewhat responsible. I'll go stand in the corner with my nose in the crack.

Here's my 2 cents on the chick magnet concept. I own a corvette only because I genuinely believe they're one of the greatest cars ever built. ...and I don't care if it's a C1 or a C6, they all have their pros and cons. My thought is this, if I was going to buy a vehicle to have a chick magnet, I'd buy a motorcycle. I own a CBR1000RR and I am constantly amazed by the amount of women who are total strangers (and normally wouldn't give me the time of day )but ask for a ride. Never get any attention like that in a car. That being said.... Years ago I was talking on the phone to a girl and wanted to gauge her thoughts about the C5. So before I hung up the phone I talked about how I was thinking of buying another car and asked her if she thought I should sell my corvette? Later that night I realized I had a new voicemail from her. When I checked it, it went something like this 'Hey! Earlier you asked me what I thought should be done with your corvette. Did I ever tell you about my fantasy, the one where I get f!!ked on the hood of a corvette?' She then laughed evilly, and bid me sweet dreams before she hung up. I NEVER got that kind of response when I asked someone if I should sell my Buick Regal!!!!

Took the vette to a car show Tues. night. Kicked back in my chair far enough away so that people wouldn't know if I was the owner or not and just watched to see who looked at it the most. Teen-age girls were the most interested and then guys about my own age (41). I was very surprised. Might be the yellow color that attracted them.

I bought the car because I love Vettes. Got my own hottie at home so, I don't much care if it's a chick magnet and I certainly don't need girls my kids age following my around. That's just wrong. I'm just glad other people appreciate the car like I do!

I do the same at car shows - sit away and watch. I am convinced that white 'Vettes are invisible. Most people just walk right past and move on to the ones next to me.

Too bad my car isn't invisible to the cops.

DC rule number 1: If you mention your hottie in a thread, you have to post pics. Hey, I don't make the rules. I just know'em.

Here on Long Island Corvettes get no attention whatsoever. I can still remember when I picked up my new 1968 shark (see my gallery) when it was probably the first one in the city (Pittsburgh); people went crazy. I could not park it without coming back to find finger prints all over it. Those were the days! Maybe it should say something about the C7...make the C7 as different from the C6 as the C3 was from the C2 and get back to being a car of the future that you can drive today.

As far as Corvette's being chick magnets? Total BS! I drive a brand new C6, I am 26 years old and I have received absolutely no attention from any girls. I even offered a girl I was pursuing a few weeks ago a chance to drive the car herself and she seemingly could not have cared any less. I didnít buy the car to pick up girls; I bought it because it has been a dream of mine for years to have a new Corvette; though if it did help with the ladies I would not have complained. The only people who really notice the car are middle aged men and little kids. And as far as motorcycles being chick magnets, also BS. I used to have a Ducati 996 which got absolutely no attention from the ladies. I donít know maybe its the area I live in. Seems to me that if you live in Western PA the only thing that impresses girls is your ability to drink large quantities of alcohol (beer specifically). Too bad I hate beer. Ohh well, I guess I will just have to drive on.
