Lasts longer than beer, can't overdose, less cumulatively destructive than cigarettes, and makes you high.

Oh really? So you're saying that people smoke as many joints as others smoke cigarettes? I don't think so.

You said less destructive......another bogus statement about smoking weed. Prove me wrong. There are many studies out there thatshow smoking weed is worse for the lungs because people draw the smoke in deeper and hold it in for longer periods of time.

"I don't think so" isn't a valid argument.

No, I said "cumulatively destructive"; there's a difference. And to drive my point home, here's a nice little article explaining it:

http://www.marijuana.com/Exposing_04_1095.html
Quote:
Except for their psychoactive ingredients, marijuana and tobacco smoke are nearly identical. 21 Because most marijuana smokers inhale more deeply and hold the smoke in their lungs, more dangerous material may be consumed per cigarette. However, it is the total volume of irritant inhalation - not the amount in each cigarette - that matters.

Most tobacco smokers consume more than 10 cigarettes per day and some consume 40 or more. Regular marijuana smokers seldom consume more than three to five cigarettes per day and most consume far fewer. Thus, the amount of irritant material inhaled almost never approaches that of tobacco users.

Well geez a pro marijuana site, did you think they'd knock your favorite habit.

Can marijuana cause cancer? Marijuana smoke has been found to contain more cancer-causing agents than is found in tobacco smoke. Examination of human lung tissue that had been exposed to marijuana smoke over a long period of time in a laboratory showed cellular changes called metaplasia that are considered precancerous. In laboratory test, the tars from marijuana smoke have produced tumors when applied to animal skin. These studies suggest that it is likely that marijuana may cause cancer if used for a number of years.

Any links? I'd like to read the details of said studies.

actually no, I made that up

Do some research that takes you outside of the realm of "don't believe what the squares tell you about weed"

I really don't care what you guys choose to do, but it really gets old listening to people try and tell us how "good" marijuana is compared to other things, when in fact it's just as bad and in some cases is worse.

It seems as though marijuana affects people's ability to do independant research to refute all the health claims made by scientists who have actually studied its affects.
