WHOA Frank! Have you read anything at all about Zora? Zora despirately wanted a rear mid vette and with all wheel drive if possible. His experiments with the CERV II convenced him that - at the time - this was the ULTIMATE HANDLING MACHINE. Zora fought with GM managment and GM marketing tooth and nail to get a rear middy. Some say that this caused him to loose power - and health - and decide to retire. His parting words to Dave McClellan (paraphrasing from my memory), "Somehow you MUST convence them to build a rear mid engine Corvette."
I don't think Marketing would ever rubber stamp a Zora model Corvette - except, perhaps, a special edition version some day. If a "Zora" or a "Duntov" is ever produced it had better have rear engine middy layout or GM HQ will be haunted by the ghost of Zora rattling cam shafts and dragging ported heads down the halls forevermore.

Yes I am familiar with zora's preferences and have read many things on him and the cerv II and such, but the mid engine layout just doesn't appeal to me and I don't think that just because a vette wears duntov's name that it must absolutely positively be a mid engine design even though he himself loved the concept.

OK - Great minds can disagree. We can too.

No, no, no Longtimer, I'm just adding to and not getting rid of my Z! One front engine and one mid engine Corvette, then I can decide which one I want to drive the most! See how simple it is?
