Thanks for the link ddreghr.

Jalopnik certainly got tons of photos. I like the rear haunches, but the shape of the side scoops look strange to me. I guess we'll be seeing spy shots of the C8.R in naked carbon fiber pretty soon. Will be easier to see design details then.

Notice the cammo across the rear "window" looks like it is pushed in a bit as if it is just covering an open area...like a flat rear deck between a pair of flying buttresses as has been leaked so many times in the past.

Because this is likely the all-out C8.R, the fenders are probably pushed out more than even the Z06/ZR1 versions - especially that front fender and the big vent gap showing. It does not look close to a production feature...or at least one would hope it isn't.

Here is a rendering from "CarBuzz" of what we see in the Jalopnik spy shots that looks pretty close to me except for the no long needed TOP of the rear fender vents just behind the door- those are not there in the spy shots:

Growing up with a father who was a Chevrolet dealer, I always enjoyed the new car shows. Dad would get the new model year cars and hide them under a tarp in our garage until the "unveiling". This would draw people in from around the area. Obviously this was way before the Internet and spy photos.

I felt privileged to be someone who saw them before everyone else. I even remember my dad allowing me to order the new cars by typing into the computer terminal (early 80's) the RPO codes.

This is a major change for the Corvette, but to me it feels a bit like when the C4 came out. Revolutionary and cutting edge. Now the question is will Chevrolet put out laser discs to promote the new car like they did for the C4?

My Dad sold Chevies. One day he stuck his head in the door and said, "Come on, let's go for a short ride." When I got outside, it was a new vette he was on the way to deliver it. My mom followed but I got to ride in the vette. I fell in love and have driven vettes as my daily driver all my adult life.

We never missed the new cars debuts. Most were in Sept or Oct. I avidly followed every Chevy. One year my Dad's boss told me there was only one change on the new trucks and I could never spot it. My Dad told him, "he's only 7, but I'll bet you a lunch he'll spot it." We proceeded to the Service bay where the Pickup was to be prepped for the lot. After walking around it, I climbed inside and almost immediately said,"Oh, this is easy. They took the lock off the glovebox." Dad got a free lunch and I got a Dairy Queen cone on the way home.
