My New Mopar

Well I tried to be a Chevy guy. I do so love the Corvettes. But after trading a Honda odyssey for a Chevy Uplander I have learned my lesson well. The uplander sucked. The 3.9L LZ9 engine the largest and final iteration of GM's 60 degree v6 that boasted 240x2 power output was an absolute pig on gas. And I can wax on about other discomforts and reasons why I believe this minivan was so great it was made for just a few years. So at the tail end of my payments I took my 2008 Chevrolet back to Carmax and saw this..

2018 Chrysler Pacifica..

It's a 'Touring L' model and has a very nice interior with black leather and carpets, power sliding doors, power liftgate, radars, crash avoidance, brake assistance, and 5 star crash safety ratings every way they test them. But look at this dash..

Carmax was even nice enough to put a bow on it for the Mother's Day gift this van is meant to be..

And here is the new Mopar at home sitting next to my Corvette. I love these headlights..

Push button start on this car so no keys and check out this fob. It weighs a ton and has a million buttons on it..

Remote start on this vehicle, also. For the café standard thing this van shuts off every time it stops and restarts when the brake pedal is released. That is gonna take some getting used to. The blind spot alerts are cool.

Great looking vehicle. Built for the soccer Mom in you. Sometimes we just need a reliable car that's a hoot to drive. No mods, no tuning just turn the key and go in style. Love the dash layout. That's class right there. Good choice Wiz.

The interior is so nice. It is so enjoyable and comfortable in this ride it kinda sucks unloading from it when we reach our destination. We need to go on a road trip this summer. Hang out in this..

And while I was hoping the 'VR' button on the steering wheel was to engage some star trek holodeck style virtual reality space in the back of the van, this button just works the voice recognition in the van so I can tell it to change the temp or fan speed or set the radio station or change the volume or whatnot..

So we took the van to the drive in for a Saturday evening movie for the kids. We usually will park the minivan backwards and fold down the third row seating for a much bigger viewing area than the front windshield..

Any minivan will let you remove the middle seats but here all rear seats fold down into the floor..

And there was so much room for the 3 kids..

It is ok I fell short of getting a truck and trailer. My racecar is also my DD and can handle the drive to and from the track. Up next is to get the wife and kids to follow me to the track so I can show my kids all the cool cars and so the wife can use her nice camera and lenses to take some good pictures and video of my racecar racing. Family trip to the drag strip at PBIR coming up.
