Long day. 06:00 and calling it a day. I worked on a lot of little things which all need to be done but at the end of the day the car looks about the same. I got the power window motor and tracks out of the doors with a lot of coaching from josh and got the firewall cleaned up some more after I pulled the a/c vacuum lines.

Tony was busy tonight filling and blocking the back end

Blocking is not my thing so I stuck stuff I would not screw up too much.

So tony got the first round of fill pretty much done and it is starting to come together.

Tomorrow afternoon my front fenders should be ready to go. Hopefully we can get them on and it will really start to look like a car.

We got the new fenders in today.

I got the first pair of these. They look pretty sweet and now we wont have to modify the front to fit the 73 nose i am using. They will fin 73-79 so they would look really nice on ..say a white 74 for instance. .
I had already mounted the scoops on the other set so I cut them out again and moved them over to the new pair. I should be getting good at this by now.
I tried something different this time that worked pretty well. Taped off the corners of the opening in the fender and also the corners of the insert. I broke off some paint sticks and hot glued them to the tape. I then hot glued the insert on the corners and stuck them in place. That held it in place while I flipped it over and started glassing on the back and when I was done it popped off pretty easily and did not leave a mess..

That is all for today.

No big news or photos to share. I have been grinding and sanding to get ready to mount the front fenders. I keep thinking that we are about there, but something else comes up. We almost have all of the front end where we want it and tomorrow we should be able to finish up that and start hanging fenders.
Last night we converted the vega wheel to a standard column. That was not as easy as I had figured it to be. I started it and would probably still be working on it, but josh came along and stuck it together. I got one of those kits to convert the column, and while I guess all of the parts where there, it would have been nice if they included a drawing of how it assembles, and also if they would have tapped the holes out of the hub that the screws go into.
Hopefully tomorrow I will have some photos to share.

Hey Brent are you going with the chrome bumpers on the back and no chrome on the front like a 73? I haven't seen you post too much on the route your taking. I know Josh was talking about making some paint-able fiberglass chrome bumpers at one time. Keep the pictures comingMark

Yea it will have a 73 setup when we are done.
We are finally lining up everything to bond some fenders on. It has been a long haul and I am running out do time but it looks really good so far.

Josh is a great teacher. He always leaves me very specific instructions.

I will post more pictures soon....

Riggs: I have a feeling it is just a matter of time :-)
We got the fenders bonded on overnight. Time to grab a little rest and then start glassing the fenders in and installing the front.

You've been talking to Josh haven't you?
I brought it up to my wife last night, she was not as supportive of the flare ideal like I am. She doesn't understand the need for them or wider wheels, I guess we need to go for another ride.

I should be getting a hold of Josh soon, keep posting progress, I will need to use it as a guide.

Looking really good and coming along nicely.

You did a great job on the cutouts and it appears what you have left is the front bumper area and the major body mods will be completed.

Soon it will be time to introduce you to Mr. Sanding Block. Oh what untold fun you will have with him. The Vette will like a good massage.
