This Test Session Also Proves the Old 5/64" GM Piston Ring Packages are not really that bad after all.
Something I have known myself for a long time.

No Piston Ring Blow By under boost.
No crankcase evacuation pump used.

Thin piston rings was heavily promoted by David Vizzard.
They are pretty much obsolete now the old GM piston ring packages stock.

Might be getting ahead for a few new guys...
The Number 1 killer in many Boost Power adder engines is lack of oil control or actual engine oil into the combustion chamber.
Either from valve guides, valve stem seals, piston to cylinder wall clearances, piston rings themselves not sealing proper.

Add oil in under Boost and its Instant engine failure.
It Blew up.

Recalling one Pontiac Guy stating he pushed to 800 HP on Kieth Black Hyper pistons.
He was telling the Truth.

Any advantage to dry sump? Certainly more volume. Just curious.

Dry sump is not used by many because the cost to setup Drysump on a SBC & BBC Is around $3500-5000.
Used in High End Drag Racing & Road Race Cars.
Also used in all Dirt Track Race cars other than Street Stock V8 class & 4 cyl entry classes.

I like when they did the nitrous on the 305. The top ring butted together and it knocked a chunk of piston out, but it didn't hurt the bore very much. Always heard that boost had more stress on the piston and not the rods as opposed to nitrous which puts more stress on rods.

Centrifugal Superchargers have a different Boost Map curve than Roots Superchargers.

Nitrous hits so mean when you use it in straight 350-750-900 HP Shots.
I have seen Big Chevys crack right in 1/2 or straight down the Mains into the lifter valley from big nitrous.

RACING...Because with baseball, football, basketball, tennis, and golf, you only need one ball

I used to think that I had learned patience as I got older. Then I realized that I just didn't give a shit
