I always come down on you for your lies so I should reinforce and point out this very real truth. It is bizarre to hear from your end but then you never cease to amaze. Yes this is an affordable engine in brand new form as a crate straight from Chevy. And while it was still top dog when I bought mine, the LS/LQ/LSX engine family is at the end of it's ropes in production cars. That does not mean they will not continue to be sold for decades to come as crate engines and I assure you the broad aftermarket support will ensure this but there is most certainly better out and available for us today.

It has been less than a decade now since we heard rumors about GM's new LT engine family with a million hours spent inside the combustion chamber to bring about that strange piston shape for the new direct injected motors. With the new LT engine family came the gen v controllers. These controllers use torque models and predicted output values for everything and tuning these cars is fundamentally different than anything before it. Fuel pressure varies from 2,000 to 2,900psi and injector timing is extremely critical. And ignition timing is not a table but the result of math. That is gen v. We are at the end of gen v.

New GM vehicles will bring the machine learning to the game. These controllers are using neural networks to create their own tune. I can not believe that you were the one to point out the LSX engine family becoming obsolete, Brian. Good for you. So here is a video from the man that taught my class in Odessa, FL 7 years ago and wrote all those cool books I keep buying. He is talking about the new engine controllers. They are coming out now. Some already are. It's not 10 years away anymore.

I think the common logic of the day is this will debut on the C8 2020 Corvette that is being touted as 'untunable' because of things in place to prevent hacking the cars that are to be connected to the internet. Of course it will be tunable. We just have to write new software first.

Only because when we get along you go on about how the LS3 heads flow better than LS7 and how the B8 and B15 were probably the best. I can quote those comments here as well. The same engine doesn't go back and forth from good to bad and back from one day to the next. But your emotions sure do. Keep your hate focused bro. You hate me. I am a piece of shit to you.

Bad mouthing the most popular and commonly swapped engine in history is only gonna make you look even dumber than you might actually be. Like you should carry a mirror in your pocket so you can periodically check for drool on the fly. If you are badmouthing the most swapped engine in history.
Your LS FORD.

Please stop showing your crazy. It is a GM engine no matter how you slice that apple. I mean it is the bowtie on every one sold. And most importantly GM sells them. All checks are written to GM. And if you called FORD and asked them for an LS or LSX engine, well, you'd probably make them cry.

I think Ford screwed the pooch back with their old blocks splitting at the first sign of power. What has happened with the LS engine will happen with no other engine. This was a one time thing as the controlling tech is going to seriously limit swap capabilities moving forward. And we are headed to the self driven stuff anyways.

Chevrolet SBC and BBC already became popular swap options over the competition because of this problem with the Ford blocks long before LS was on the scene. Sucks for Ford. So when the LS engine family came out the market was already setup and very ripe for what has played out. And today there is such immense support and parts availability for the LS engine family that it would take an incredible amount to knock it down. A lot more than a helephant motor for damn sure.

You just need to pull your head out of your max HP ass and think a little bit about business and marketing and the realities of the world in which we live. I know that is hard for such an obvious stranger to the truth. But if you try hard enough you can see that hp can be built out of anything and some choose their engine platform to build from for reliability or for aftermarket parts and swap support and it's pricing. By these terms the LS engine family will remain top dog for the forseeable future. The new LT is nice but as it becomes more popular the LS engine stuff becomes even cheaper. And it is the same less the direct injection.

We don't all live in the sticks. For a lot of us the streets at night are vey similar to the streets during the day.

I'm betting eastern Kentucky is "the sticks". The streets (road) is very different at night. Lights and brakes are more important than speed because that green eyed, white tail deer is hiding behind a tree just waiting on your ass. A street race here would end with a deer stuck in your windshield and a set of antlers stuck into your eyeballs. Street race and DIE. LOL

Have deer at night here also.
The biggest concern is Huge Potholes.
I hit one on Route 80 last week in the 87 Corvette doing 130 .
Forgot about that Bastard right before I-55 exit ramps to Joilet & North Chicago.
Cranked the wheel full 1 turn left at speed and pulled out of most of it with the Right front tire.

So then when you are ready to man up and race me you will get a plane ticket and rent a car down here and we will drive up to PBIR and race like gentlemen?

My Corvette has less than 6" of ground clearance, low profile tires, and no brush guard. You know typical setup for a racecar.
