My Corvette has less than 6" of ground clearance, low profile tires, and no brush guard.
My ole' 2000 Tahoe is a deer killing machine. I've got a 6" lift, 35" tires, 20" rims and a brush guard. When I check my lottery ticket I'll buy a fabricated bumper and a 12,000# winch for more mass. I street race and not DIE in 12" of snow. Yes, I've mowed the grass since this pic and the hood is up on the automatic Impala just charging a battery.

For you Florida boys, snow is that slick white stuff that falls out of the sky and accumulates on the ground. Kinda like this. My Bengal cat doesn't quite know what to do in it.

In the last 1 year all the Chevy Vortech 350 1996-1999 Tahoes and early LS 5.3 Tahoes and all Suburbans died disappeared here in Illinois.
Just don't see them.
Have those little Crossovers everywhere.
Should have seen last winter Gunny here in Illinois.
Those tiny Crossovers were in ditches upside down on roofs.
Ran over by Semi trucks split in 1/2.
Rode by in my 1999 Chevy Tahoe 4x4.
Thought...holy fuck....they died.

Shitboxes.

Think all those 4L60e transmissions died.
Jaspers die too.
No one left around that knows how to Rebuild blueprint them but you and me outside of internet mail order transmission companies.

I hit one on Route 80 last week in the 87 Corvette doing 130 .
Forgot about that Bastard right before I-55 exit ramps to Joilet & North Chicago.
Cranked the wheel full 1 turn left at speed and pulled out of most of it with the Right front tire.

Illinois.

Should see a Semi Truck wreck.
One the 18 liter Detroit Diesel was shot out of the truck 500 feet away in the Cornfield.
Truck scattered across all lanes on Route 80.
That was Winter 2016-2017.
Black Ice he hit.
Holy Fuck that day.
Was in my 1994 K1500 Suburban.

Probably getting too expensive with gas prices. Stock hwy mileage was about 18-19. 33" tires and stock height was about 16-17 mpg. Lift kit and 35" tires mileage is right at 14. I'll fix that. It has 3.73 gears and has gotten slower because of tire height. I'll put a 6.0 or a 6.2 and a 4L80E in it this fall and get more torque. I'll see if I can get it down to 12 MPG.

Gas is expensive again.
That Fat Mexican Demo Bastard jacked up gas taxes here yesterday. Should Pull his Green card passport & deport, let him try & climb over Trump's wall.
Also 3rd trimester abortion just about legal here.

I would try and buy the complete drivetrain from a Chevy 2500 or 1 ton truck.

4L60E is holding up in the Tahoe I finished building last year.
I have not towed any cars or tractors with it, just don't trust it for that.
TH400 or 4L80E.

Getting about 16 mpg in the 350 Vortech Tahoe lately.
3.42 gears.

Something to look at Gunny today.
I don't agree with all.

No one has planted here anywhere in Central Illinois & North around Chicago in farm country.
I was in Rockford Belvidere recent if you recall by WI state line just miles away.
Like a Desert.
Nothing growing but some weeds.
Ground is so Full of Roundup Glyosphosphate. Almost Agent Orange.
Everyone living in Cities with concrete and swamps like Wiz just may be Fucked later in 2019.

Where's the hills? I mow almost 5 acres and that's enough. I have 25 additional acres of hillside and telephone poles. That's for the deer. Riding mower takes about 3 -4 hours, 4 WD self-propelled push mower takes about 3 hours and the weedeating is never done. Old John Deere 345 with a water cooled Kawasaki engine never breaks.

He was a direct dependent of Hatfield or McCoys he told me.
Kept Telling him I am from the sticks in Illinois.
