Actually it does - it extends right into pit road at the Nordschleife..

At least we have a price finalization. It's not going to be $100,000, the Blue Devil will only cost 4.00.

Did any of you see the different front air dam with 6-10 inch cut out to let air to the radiator. Also looks like twin inercoolers in the air intake.

For those who follow the development of performance cars, and the testing that goes on at Nurburgring, the new Corvette Z06 has made history. According to some German car magazines, it ran a 7:40 lap driven by a Jan Magnusen (a C6R LeMans driver).

Here is a comparison of other production cars which ran at Nurburgring:
7:28 --- Porsche Carrera GT, Walther Röhrl, Autobild July 2004
7:32.4 -- Porsche Carrera GT, definitive time by Horst Von Saurma
7:32.5 - Gemballa Porsche GTR 600 EVO, Wolfgang Kaufmann (2001)
7:36 --- Porsche Carrera GT, factory test driver Walther Röhrl (2002)
7:40* -- Porsche Carrera GT, *estimated time on cold and partially wet track (2003)
7:40* -- 161.217 km/h – Corvette Z06, 505 PS/ 1419.7 kg (estimated), Jan Magnusen
7:40 --- Mercedes Benz McLaren SLR, Klaus Ludwig, Autobild July 2004
7:42 --- Radical 1500 SR3 (2002)
7:43 --- TechArt GT Street (2001)
7:43 --- Porsche 996 911 GT3 RS, factory test driver Walter Rohrl, MOTOR Magazine
7:43.5 - Lamborghini Murcielago (Autocar magazine, 2002)
7:44 --- Pagani Zonda C12S (07/2003)
7:45 --- Gemballa Porsche GTR 600 (12/2000)
7:46 --- Porsche 996 GT2
7:46 --- SHK Porsche 993 GT2, 652 PS (1999)
7:47 --- Porsche 996 GT3 RS, 381PS (996) (2004)
7:49 --- Porsche 996 GT3 Cup
7:50 --- BMW E46 M3 CSL (08/2003)
7:50 --- Blitz Supra, 750 PS, Herbert Schürg (1997)

Jim, not to question you or anything, but do you have references for these times? I've seen this particular list thrown around on message boards all over the net. I've seen confirmation for a couple of the times. But, the official Nurburgring website lacks the majority of these times. The C5 Z06's 7:56 is well documented and attested to, but the C6 time, driven by "Dave Hill" no less, stinks of BS... (I don't doubt at all that the C6 ran a 7:56, I recall hearing it mentioned that it matched the C5 Z06 time, but coupled with bogus driver info.....) I've personally looked for some information on both the C5's and C6's testing, stuff like dates and drivers, but came up awfully short...

I think it mentions the 7:56 as being by DH because that is the official time for the C6 Z51.

Officially posted where....? and regardless of the reason, the time obviously wasn't lifted from an official source if it could be tagged with Dave Hill's name as a driver... Again, I recall hearing this time too, but I just want something a little more concrete.

I'm in the dark on this one. GM's not calling back. Sorry, this is still unofficial, and this may be a wish list, but my big gut, still says this is the C6Z06, not the BD.

We'll just have to wait for GM's official release.

Here's my two cents: Dave Hill was quoted as saying that the C6 matched the C5 Z06's time, which was 7:56. When people first posted the 7:56 time it didn't have a driver named, so they posted something to the effect of (per Dave Hill). That then has been corrupted and people think that Dave drove the car himself.
