Mag Cradle: Cracked and Jacked

If the previous owner jacked it up on a single 2x4 under the engine cradle only could that have caused this? I don't care about the price, I was just wondering if it was OK for me to do in the future, it was in an accident so that was what I was thinking caused it, but just wanted to make sure I don't do anything stupid and break the replacement in the same way, if it was from that.

I REALLY doubt jacking any corvette K-frame up,
would have caused that crack, especially if you had a short section of 2x4,
spreading the load on that k-frame induced by a floor jack
looks like youll need to pull clean and bevel then re-weld
(250 amp TIG welder preferred)
that crack or replace the k-frame

What if I were to use 300amps, would it be better that way?


Maybe I'll get 3.3mm rods, any particular material to recommend? For the aluminum or Magnesium, or both?



If I were to weld my aluminum frame from the other thread, how would I ground/protect the electronics. I was thinking of using jumper cables on either side to a good ground(Also I would have to figure out where that is as I have a house, not a shop)
