Aero mods

Granted any downforce is going to lower my top speed, but I'll counter that with other mods I guess. My main concern is stability up there in the 160-180 range. Does the Z06 spoiler really help at all? That would be the first step I guess. A chin spoiler I am sure would help too, but I can't get over speed bumps as it is. Do they make any that don't lower the car much, but actually increase downforce?

where exactly did you "verify" the 186 MPH top speed...and what test equipment did you use?

the speedo isn't the best thing to us to "verify" the top speed of vehical....

I'm sure that if you keep your foot on the gas long enough, you can be sure that you are close to your car's top speed As for the floatiness, I think the Z spoiler would help, as well as a set of nose canards if the exist for the C6 yet. I know they were available for the C5 from Caravaggio in the Skunk Werkes body kit. Not sure if they help with downforce, but they look like they might.

Yeah there was no radar to verify, just the possibly inaccurate speedo, but I am sure it was in the range. I think I'll order the Z06 spoiler, it can't hurt, and I'll look into the Caravaggio canards. I've got a year though so maybe something for the front will come out soon.

For better aero...
1)Better rear diffuser to straighten out the air.
2)If you wanted to go hardcore you could make panels and smoothen out the bottom of your car completely.
3) Race Hood with Louvers - it'll release the heat from the engine aswell as let any of the air that comes up from the bottom of the car out further planting the front of the car.
4) Z06 Spoiler :P
5)Chin Spoiler

You could improve your alignment to imrpove handling at top speed too. You could also get wider tires

Cool. Thanks for the tips. I don't know if anyone makes a different diffuser, is the Z06 diffuser any different?
Panels for the bottom of the car is probably a little more work than I am up for.
I wouldn't want anything too outrageous, but a new hood isn't out of the question, and I like the wider tires idea. That gives me a goal, destroy the runflats in the next year.
