I got some intel on this route also and it it appears that, (if a straight shot.....never is) my mileage would be around 4000 miles. Road trip for sure. Tornados, windstorms, sand squalls, hail stones big as basketballs, bring thick blankets under the car cover. Might need Paul Bunyan to lasso one of them fakkers.

4000 miles is a lot on the
550 HP lt4-383 Ran rich last year.....will need to get a tuning. fouled a plug in ST lLouis last year, running rich it was. Gotta, must have the A/C fixed. I couldn't drink enough beer to stay cool without getting shitfaced and going to jail

The power tour is the most fun you can possibly have while still wearing your clothes, Nekkid in bed with a Buxom blond might delay me for a few minutes.

Cool Pat-

SS- I did Mapquest and came out to less than 2900 mile total- to and from Atlanta...You should be about the same

Here's the latest- Edlebrock pulled it off their website and put as TBA- so that pretty much confirms it...

Some good guesses here re the venues-

Saturday June 11
Lamar Dixon Expo Center
9039 South Saint Landry Ave
Gonzales, LA 70737

Sunday June 12
Four States Fair
3700 E. 50th St
Texarkana, AR 71854

Monday June 13
Quick Trip Ball Park
1600 Lone Star Pkwy
Grand Prairie, TX 75050-7968

Tuesday June 14
Kicker Audio HQ
3100 N Husband St
Stillwater, OK 74075

Wednesday June 15
Heartland Park
7530 Southwest Topeka Boulevard
Topeka, KS 66619

Thursday June 16
NE State Fairgrounds
501 E Fonner Park Rd #200
Grand Island, NE 68801

Friday June 17
Closest is Ames IA

Newton Iowa is not too far away from me Gunny.
Maybe I will drive and check it out.

4.56 gears with the 4L60E in Overdrive is 3.19 : 1.
The 383 LT-4 Will be Ok.
Kinda far for the gears. Lots of miles on the highway.
Heat soak buildup after several hours could break down the gear oil.

3.23 -3.42 be about right at 80-90 mph extendd highway cruising.

That's not quite right. The 383 LT4 Impala with the 4L60E has 3.73 gears. It's the 6 speed LT4 Impala that has the 4.56 gears. The 6 speed has a .5 6th gear. The automatic car is the one with most of the horsepower. The 350 LT4 only makes probably about 360-375 right now. It's stock LT4 with the GMPP 845 cam, Crane springs, SLP headers, A full 2.5" stainless exhaust and a tune. Probably picked up 30-45 HP over the stock 330.

Of course I powdercoated the Hotchkiss upper and lower trailing arms, polished the aluminum driveshaft, got the powdercoated the tubular transmission mount and powdercoated the Moser differential cover. All red of course.
Got a Z28 front sway bar and a Herb Adams 1 1/2" rear sway bar. That would make a good weapon. It weighs about a million pounds.

I forgot you had 2 SS Impalas Gunny.
You haven't talked about the 6-speed since 2011.

4.56 Gears use only 85-140w on the Power Tour.
Straight 140w GL-6 BE BEST.
HARD TO FIND NOW. DIESEL TRUCK WORLD USED.

Pontiac 455 takes 3.23-3.42 gears at 550 Hp to clean house 99%.
That much Torque is on Tap Normally aspirated no power adder.

Registration has opened early. I just signed up for the VIP Platinum. $2065.00 for 7 nights in the host or co-host hotel, $25.00 a day for food (maybe breakfast) VIP registration with the best parking, special VIP goodies and the regular goodie bag. The travel agency takes care of everything for you. Not a bad deal. Add a thousand for gas, and another $1000 for food and spending money.....seems like a deal. Hope to see some of you guys there. I've got the moonshine covered. Any special flavor requests? Can the still bust you for hauling illegal alcohol. Brings back memories of Thunder Road with Robert Mitchum and the song by him also. When was that.......I was younger then.

Congrats Richard! Look forward to meeting you! I'm hoping to have the supercharger build done in time for the Power Tour this year, but if not, I'll make the trek in a lowly N/A 563 hp LS3. Got the air conditioning working like a champ last weekend, so I should be able to stay cool.

It doesn't look like I'll be able to make the entire run. That's one of our busy months in the business, and we have to gather when we can.

We'll pick up the tour at Remington Park, and follow the tour into Kansas. Dunno from there.

Look forward to the run. Should be a real kicker.
